Senior Software Engineer
Work hands-on with modern backend technologies to design and build secure, scalable systems that help protect some of the world’s most targeted organizations. This role offers deep technical ownership, close collaboration with fellow engineers, and the opportunity to influence how our core platforms are built and maintained.
Job Brief
At CSIS Security Group, we're seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and build secure, scalable systems that protect some of the world’s most targeted organizations.
As part of a small, high‑impact team of 12 developers, you'll work on core software systems, lead technical design, and drive automations that make us faster and more effective. Expect to be hands‑on - defining architecture, mentoring peers, writing and reviewing code with care, and owning solutions end‑to‑end from concept to production.
We value not just your technical expertise, but your curiosity, collaborative spirit, and your drive to make things happen. If cybersecurity excites you, and you’re looking for a role where technical depth, best practices, and innovation go hand‑in‑hand, we’d love to hear from you.
What You’ll Do
- Architect, build, and maintain scalable, secure backend systems that help protect our customers.
- Define technical requirements and design the system architecture for new projects as a tech lead.
- Champion best practices and introduce automations that improve quality and efficiency across our codebase.
- Provide thoughtful, constructive code reviews - and welcome the same in return.
- Collaborate with fellow engineers, product owners, and other stakeholders to solve complex technical, architectural, and organizational challenges.
Your profile
A creative and experienced software engineer, you take pride in your work and thrive within a tight‑knit team of highly motivated professionals. With at least 5 years of experience in the field, you can turn business requirements into well‑designed, secure, and scalable systems that follow best practices. Mentoring junior team members comes naturally to you, and your code reviews are both insightful and actionable.
Your comfort zone spans everything from REST APIs to high-throughput event‑driven data platforms and DevOps improvements. Unit and integration testing are an integral part of your development process, and when systems incidents occur, you take ownership, investigate, and resolve underlying root causes to prevent recurrence.
You have extensive experience with many of the following concepts or technologies:
- Python - we use FastAPI, pydantic, SQLAlchemy, and pytest
- Relational databases – we use PostgreSQL
- Containers – we use Docker, Kubernetes, and Argo CD
- Google Cloud Platform and Infrastructure as Code– we use Terraform
- Event driven architecture, we use Kafka/RedPanda
- CI/CD pipelines
In addition, we value if you:
- Are excited about cybersecurity and threat intelligence
- Enjoy sharing your expertise both with your colleagues and at conferences or meetups
- Can receive and give respectful and constructive criticism
- Have an open mind for new technologies, methodologies, and people
What we offer
- A competitive salary and personal benefit package
- 5 weeks holiday, plus 5 extra days off each year
- Flexible working hours and the possibility of working from home
- Health and dental insurance, a pension, plus life and disability insurance
- Healthy, varied lunches (incl. vegetarian, vegan and allergy options)
- Stocked refrigerators with soft drinks
- Lots of social activities and company events
- Mobile phone subscription and home internet
- The opportunity to invest in the company upon meeting minimum tenure requirements
Other conditions
- Security Clearance: As we protect highly sensitive organizations, a security clearance may be required.
- Our working language is English.
- The place of work is Copenhagen, Denmark.
