Junior Software Engineer

Work hands-on with modern backend technologies to build secure, scalable systems that help protect some of the world’s most targeted organizations. This role offers strong collaboration, practical learning opportunities, and the chance to contribute to how our core platforms are developed and improved

Job Brief

At CSIS Security Group, we're seeking a Software Engineer to join us in building secure, scalable systems that protect some of the world’s most targeted organizations.

As part of a small, high‑impact team of 12 developers, you’ll contribute to our system design, create high‑quality code and review it with care, and help bring solutions from concept to production with support from the team.

We value not just your technical skills, but your curiosity, collaborative spirit, and drive to make things happen. If cybersecurity excites you, and you’re looking for a role where technical depth, best practices, and innovation go hand‑in‑hand, we’d love to hear from you.

What
You’ll Do

  • Build, maintain, and improve scalable, secure backend systems that help protect our customers.

  • Contribute to technical requirements and solution design for new projects, working closely with fellow engineers, product owners, and other stakeholders.

  • Apply and help evolve best practices and contribute to automation that improve quality and efficiency across our codebase.

  • Provide thoughtful, constructive code reviews — and welcome the same in return.

Your profile

You are an enthusiastic software developer who takes pride in your work and enjoys working in a supportive, tight‑knit team. You have a bachelor’s or master's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. You are curious about the challenges faced by our customers and colleagues and are motivated to help solve them by building well‑designed, secure, and scalable software with guidance from your teammates.

You have some experience designing and implementing backend services and REST APIs and are eager to expand your skills in event‑driven systems, data processing workflows, and the responsible application of LLMs.

You have experience with several of the following concepts or technologies:

  • Python we use FastAPI, pydanticSQLAlchemy, and pytest

  • Relational databases – we use PostgreSQL

  • Unit and integration testing

  • Containers – we use Docker, Kubernetes, and Argo CD

  • CI/CD pipelines

We know that people from underrepresented groups in tech often hold back from applying unless they meet every single requirement. If that sounds familiar, we encourage you to apply anyway. You might be a much stronger match than you think — and we’d love to hear from you.

In addition, we value if you:

  • Are excited about cybersecurity and threat intelligence

  • Enjoy sharing your expertise both with your colleagues and at conferences or meetups

  • Can receive and give respectful and constructive criticism

  • Have an open mind for new technologies, methodologies, and people

Other conditions

  • Security Clearance: As we protect highly sensitive organizations, a security clearance may be required.

  • The place of work is Copenhagen, Denmark  we are work-from-home friendly, but this is not a remote position.

  • Our working language is English.
