Role overview
We are seeking a highly organised and commercially aware Project Manager to support both the successful delivery of cyber security projects and the co-ordination of, and contribution to, bids, tenders, and proposal activities. This hybrid role is suited to someone who can manage resource planning, project execution whilst also contributing to business growth through the development of high-quality client proposals, tender responses, and bid submissions.
The successful candidate will be a part of the Consulting department and will work primarily with engagement delivery, plus sales, technical, and leadership teams to ensure projects are delivered effectively and new business opportunities are pursued in a structured, compliant, and compelling way. Experience in cyber security, IT services, or a related technical environment is highly desirable.
Key responsibilities
Project management responsibilities
- Co-ordinate end-to-end delivery of cyber security projects from initiation through to closure.
- Define scope, deliverables, timelines, milestones, budgets, and resource requirements.
- Develop and maintain project plans, RAID logs, progress reports, and governance documentation.
- Co-ordinate internal teams including cyber security consultants, engineers, analysts, architects, and third-party suppliers.
- Plan and track resourcing to drive optimal and consistent utilisation across the team
- Manage project risks, issues, dependencies, assumptions, and change requests.
- Monitor delivery against schedule, cost, quality, and client expectations.
- Chair project meetings, stakeholder updates, and governance forums.
- Ensure project outcomes align with contractual requirements, internal standards, and applicable regulations.
- Translate technical delivery updates into clear, concise reports for non-technical stakeholders and clients.
- Support continuous improvement of project delivery processes, templates, and controls.
Bid management responsibilities
- Co-ordinate the end-to-end bid process for consulting tenders, frameworks, RFPs, RFIs, and proposal submissions.
- Review tender documentation and define bid plans, timelines, responsibilities, and submission requirements.
- Work with subject matter experts, sales teams, delivery leads, and senior stakeholders to gather and refine content for bids and proposals.
- Draft, edit, and quality-check written responses to ensure submissions are clear, persuasive, compliant, and tailored to client requirements.
- Track bid actions, deadlines, clarifications, and submission milestones.
- Maintain a library of reusable bid content, case studies, CVs, policies, and supporting documentation.
- Ensure proposals reflect the company’s intelligence capabilities, delivery approach, accreditations, and value proposition.
- Support pricing and commercial response coordination in collaboration with finance and commercial teams.
- Contribute to bid review meetings, lessons learned sessions, and continuous improvement of bid processes.
- Help manage submissions for public sector and regulated industry opportunities, including framework and procurement portals where applicable.
Key skills and experience
- Proven experience in project management, bid management, or a hybrid delivery/commercial role.
- Experience working within cyber security, cyber threat intelligence, information security, technology services, or a related technical sector.
- Strong understanding of formal project management disciplines and governance.
- Experience managing tenders, proposals, or public/private sector bid submissions.
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce professional and persuasive client-facing documents.
- Strong stakeholder coordination skills across technical, operational, commercial, and leadership teams.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously and work effectively under time pressure.
- Good commercial awareness and understanding of client requirements.
- Comfortable interpreting technical information and converting it into clear business language.
- Strong organisational skills and high attention to detail.
Desirable qualifications
- PRINCE2 Practitioner, PMP, APM PMQ, or similar project management qualification.
- APMP Foundation or equivalent bid/proposal management qualification.
- Familiarity with TLPT/TIBER/CBEST.
- Successfully managing short-term engagements (~8 weeks).
- Experience with UK procurement processes, public sector frameworks, and tender portals is advantageous.
- Knowledge of cyber security services such as threat intelligence, managed SOC, compliance, cloud security, GRC, IAM, or incident response.
- Experience using tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, CRM systems, and bid management platforms.
